The Good News

☺ You are not alone! 10% of your school friends will be similar.
☺ Look around the family. There will be others who are similar. Ask them how they help themselves.
☺ There is a lot of help to be had at school and at home.
☺ You will never stop being dyslexic but there are lots of ways to make your life easier.
☺ If you make an effort to learn how to touch type (without looking) then you can use all the amazing IT software to help you with your difficulties.
☺ If you understand HOW you learn and WHEN to learn, you can do well in your school exams.
☺ When you think about your strengths as well as your weaknesses you can use your strengths to help (Eg.if you are good at acting, you can make actions/ plays to help you remember)
☺ You are probably very creative and think differently. This can be a great advantage!
☺ There are many, many people who are very successful, because they are dyslexic, and their strengths are what make them great. You can be too (Look at the ‘JUST THINK!’ Page)
